Just remember, whichever approach that you take, it should make you more comfortable in writing. These approaches are just suggestions for you. It is not meant to be a rule.2

Anyway, here is the outline approach.
Outline Approach
In this approach, you should determine a topic, then break it down using some outlines. That is some bullets under the main idea. For example as follows:Studying
- Purpose of studying
- to gain more knowledge
- to master some skill
- Means to study
- school
- friends
- ask the master
- Types of study
- formal
- informal
As you can see above, the outline approach gives us a more structured thinking. From the subject of studying, we can break it down to the purpose, means, then types of study.
